clarence & rachel met by chance, and are an incredibly blessed and beautiful couple. i am honestly thankful for the opportunity to be able to photograph them. 

it is crazy how just a year ago i’d been yearning to go on wedding shoots and seeing how they actually are like.

went on a couple of shoots and then i realized how wrongly i had taken things for what they had appeared to be. i realized that these weren’t wedding shoots. this wasn’t about the wedding. this wasn’t about the relatives and the friends, or the food or the gown. wasn’t the ceremony or the ritual.

this was about the coming together of two perfectly different souls who were able to communicate through their differences. who were able to love each other every day of the years they will be committing together, and not just on their wedding day or the annual valentine’s. this was about couples who’d decided to take a step forward in the relationship. this was about love. about tenderness. about serendipity. about imperfection. about shortcomings. about acceptance. about effort. about courage. about choice. yes, this day is about love, amongst many many things.
